Arianne Shaffer

Telling stories to urban audiences on brightly lit stages in dimly lit bars, I spend much of my time in worlds of raconteurs of all kinds. I offer storytelling workshops to a wide range of people including artists, peacemakers, social justice advocates, and entrepreneurs. I am the collector, archivist and writer for Love Letters to a Friend — a project that I developed as an ongoing, online archive of love letters. When I’m not on stage I spend my days working as the Director of Programs at Kindle Project — a beautifully weird and radical foundation that bridges worlds between donors and communities. Philanthropy and storytelling aren’t all that different — they both require listening, empathy and good dose of humour to make it work.
